Do you have a project for our science class?
Submit your idea to Mr. Wheatcraft:  Fill out the online form

My name is Jeff Wheatcraft and I am in charge of the STEM program at the Junior School.  As part of the STEM mission and a grant received from the AH School Foundation, we want to extend an invitation to have our students design and create a solution for your problem.  What, might you ask, can we do for you?  Think of a problem that you have that can be solved with a built object.  Need a piece of furniture for your room for a specific task, but can’t find it online.  Ask us!  Maybe a manipulative that you want more of but no budget?  We can do that!  Want a scientific or mathematical concept made real?  Give us a call!  We are here to help in any way we can.

The process is simple.  Click on the link above and fill out the google form.  We will process the form and place a team of students on your problem to start a design.  They will then send you the design for your approval or to make changes.  Once the design is approved we will start to fabricate and then deliver.

Now for the fine print: While we strive to make everything that we do free of charge for the person making the request, larger objects might need funding for materials or hard to find items.  We will get these at or below cost.  Please remember that these are students who are learning how to do (sometimes) difficult tasks and that students still spend the majority of their time doing school related work, so we simply ask for patience.  We will give you an estimated timeline for completion and when it is done, we ask that you fill out a completion review of the piece.  If we find that something is not completed to your expectations, we will take the piece back and change it so that it is perfect for you. Additionally, some projects may not be possible, depending on complexity, cost or because there are simply too many requests.

Some other examples we have done for teachers: Lanyard hook rack for the library, modified carts for floating teachers and we built a little library for the front of the JS. Most of what we do is wood, but do not let this limit your imagination! Please let us know what we can do for you and how we can make it happen.
